Jury Convicts Man Who Tried To Kiss Flight Attendant

DENVER (CBS4) - A federal jury has convicted a man accused of trying to kiss a flight attendant on one count of interfering with a flight crew.

Joseph Wayne Lynch, 35, faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fine. He was accused of being intoxicated on a flight from Denver to Philadelphia on Aug. 4.

According to the complaint, the passenger had already been drinking when he got on the plane. When the flight attendant refused to serve him more alcohol he turned violent.

Lynch didn't get into a physical altercation with anyone, but made unwanted passes at a flight attendant.

He became verbally abusive, combative and aggressive with the flight crew and a few of the passengers.

The pilot and copilot initiated cockpit lockdown procedures during the incident.

He was found guilty by a federal jury of interference with flight crew members.

It will be up to a judge to determine if Lynch gets the maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
