Jury Convicts Man Accused Of Starting Thornton Condo Fire
BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A man accused of starting a fire that destroyed a condominium complex in Thornton has been convicted of multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder.
The Adams County District Attorney's Office said Friday that a jury convicted 22-year-old Martin Espinoza of 10 counts of attempted first-degree murder, 23 counts of first-degree arson, three counts of third-degree assault and 10 counts of reckless endangerment.
Espinoza was among the people who gathered to watch the fire that destroyed 18 condominiums on March 6, and he was interviewed by a television reporter.
Two residents and two firefighters were injured in the blaze.
