July Weather Outlook Calls For Cool & Wet Across Colorado

DENVER (CBS4) - Mother Nature typically turns up the heat during the month of July across Colorado.

For Denver, it's the warmest month on average, with daytime highs ranging from 87-90 degrees and overnight lows between 57-60 degrees.

And while there could be a few hot days with temperatures that soar into the 90s and low 100s this July, the latest outlook from the Climate Prediction Center, shows that overall, cooler-than-normal conditions could be in store.

PRECIPITATION

July is known for being a wet month across Colorado, especially in the mountains and on the eastern plains, thanks to the North American Monsoon.

The monsoon is a seasonal shift in the wind patterns that carry moisture from the tropics, across the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, into Colorado.

For Denver, July is the wettest month of the year, with 2.16" of rain on average. If the latest outlook is correct, this year could be no exception.
