Judge Works To Set New Trial Date For Michael Blagg

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Two judges work together to set a new trial date for Michael Blagg, the man originally convicted in the murder of his wife, Jennifer Blagg. The new trial will take place in Jefferson County.

A judge from Jefferson County and a judge from Mesa County are working together to move the case forward.

This will be the second murder trial for Blagg who was convicted in 2004 of killing his wife Jennifer Blagg in 2001 while she slept.

His conviction was thrown out in 2014 after the judge determined a juror lied when she said she had never experienced domestic violence in a pre-trial juror questionnaire.

The juror, Marilyn Charlesworth, appeared last April before the Grand Junction City Council testifying on behalf of domestic violence victims; making evident her history of domestic violence. This led to the request for a new trial.
