Suspected DUI Driver Facing Charges After Crashing Into 2 Aurora Police Cars

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A suspected DUI driver faces charges after allegedly crashing into two Aurora police cruisers over the weekend. The driver, identified as Jonathan Stein, 36, is facing DUI and careless driving charges.

Police had made a traffic stop for a different suspected DUI driver at 38th and Chambers when the second driver, Stein, reportedly crashed into the cruisers and flipped his vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash.

In the initial traffic stop, that driver was cleared of any DUI suspicion and allowed to leave.

Stein was hospitalized after the crash. He was released from the hospital on Sunday. No officers were hurt in the crash.
