Jewelry Store Employee Accused Of Stealing Diamonds

DENVER (CBS4) – A longtime gold store employee has been arrested on charges of stealing diamonds from another precious gems store inside the Denver Merchandise Mart.

Huda Muhaisen worked for many years at A & A International Gold located inside the Denver Merchandise Mart. The 67-year-old is now accused of stealing diamonds from another gem store located in the mart.

Court documents claim a security camera inside Legino Diamonds captured hands stealing a black box containing as many as 25 caret to 1 ½ caret diamonds. The same camera recorded a woman believed to be Muhaisen taking some diamond earrings from a case at the same time.

Muhaisen allegedly called her boss the next day to report a box had arrived containing many of the missing diamonds. However eight are still missing worth nearly $100,000 plus the earrings.

Recently a thief broke in through the roof at a jewelry store in Plaza Latina, also in Adams County. That thief stole an estimated $250,000 in jewels, mostly wedding rings.
