Jensen Farms Owners' Restitution Drastically Reduced

DENVER (CBS4) - CBS4 has learned that the Jensen Farms owners now have to pay only a fraction of the restitution they were ordered to give victims of their contaminated cantaloupes.

During sentencing January the judge ordered each of the brothers to pay $150,000 for a total of $300,000. But that number was just dropped to $13,000 because only three people asked for restitution.

Thirty-three people died and 147 were hospitalized after eating cantaloupe tainted with listeria. Many of them filed separate lawsuits against the Jensens.
