Jeffco Finds Water Bottle Bombs Over Past 2 Days

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The Jefferson County Bomb Squad is investigating several water bottle bombs found over the past two days.

Four of them had already detonated when they were discovered.

They were found in the southern part of Jefferson County. One was near the Edge Ice Arena, another near Easton Park. Three others were found in the area.

The Jefferson County Bomb Squad says they're filled with household chemicals.

"They are very powerful. Statistically you could lose a limb; a liter soda bottle, you could lose a hand," Mark Miller with the Jefferson County Bomb Squads said.

Investigators are searching for a suspect. They are also warning people who visit the park to stay away from any misshaped bottles that look out of place.
