Man Facing Murder Charges After Burglary Slaying In Longmont

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Prosecutors say they will file first-degree murder charges against a Colorado man they say killed a man during a burglary. Twenty-nine-year-old Isaiah Ismael Rios made his first appearance in Boulder County District Court Friday.

District Judge Andrew Hartman told Rios at the hearing he likely would also face burglary and vehicle theft charges. It wasn't known if Rios had an attorney.

Police say a woman told them she returned to her house in Longmont on Thursday to find blood on the carpet and no sign of her 80-year-old husband.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports police later found the unidentified man's body in the house.

Police say the couple's pickup truck had been stolen. They say they found the pickup truck in a storage facility and Rios inside a storage unit.
