Iowa Man Wanted For Killing His Father Nabbed In Sterling, May Have Wanted Pot

STERLING, Colo. (CBS4) - An Iowa man has been arrested in Colorado for killing his father.

Police arrested Sean Schendel, 20, in Sterling on Friday on charges of first-degree murder. Police found his father, Robert Schendel, 55, dead in their Council Bluffs, Iowa home last Wednesday.

Investigators say Schendel shot and killed his father, took money from his bank account, and then used his van to drive to Colorado.

Schendel had posted on Facebook he was planning on going to Colorado to celebrate his 21st birthday by visiting a marijuana dispensary.
