Police: Intoxicated Driver Crashes Into Car, Home In Longmont

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Longmont arrested a woman after they say she crashed into a vehicle and then crashed into a home on Wednesday.

Kendra Trimm was arrested on DUI-related charges and transferred to the Boulder County Jail after a series of incidents.

Police said about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday Trimm was driving a car that rear ended a vehicle at East 3rd Ave. and Pace Street and then drove away.

Trimm, 25, then left the roadway at high speeds and crashed into a home at 830 East 5th Ave. Trimm, her 5-year-old son and two female passengers were momentarily trapped inside the vehicle because a portion of the home's brick facade came tumbling down on top of the car.

They were finally able to free themselves. The two passengers ran away, one jumped into another vehicle in the area. Officers eventually contacted that vehicle where the occupants were arrested on unrelated charges.

Trimm tried to leave her son with a resident next to the home she crashed into but when police arrived, officers called for paramedics. Trimm and her son were taken to Longmont United Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Trimm was arrested on DUI-related charges and booked into the Boulder County Jail. Her son was released to a relative.
