Inmate Dies After Collapsing At Fremont County Jail
CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a 57-year-old inmate died after collapsing at the Fremont County Jail.
Sheriff's officials say Gregory Smith, of Colorado Springs, was working in the kitchen when he collapsed the morning of March 9. Medical staff at the jail performed CPR until an ambulance crew arrived and took over.
Smith was pronounced dead at a hospital, and results from his autopsy are pending.
No other information has been released.
