Information Sought In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Eagle County

EAGLE, Colo. (AP) — Authorities are asking for the public's help finding the driver who hit and killed a man on a highway in Eagle County before leaving the scene.

Investigators with the Colorado State Patrol say 76-year-old Thomas Landauer, of McCoy, was outside of his pickup truck in the northbound lane of Highway 131 near Wolcott when he was hit at about 4 a.m. Thursday. He died at the scene.

Evidence suggests the vehicle that hit Landauer was a large SUV or pickup truck. It should have minor to moderate damage to its front end and possibly a broken headlight.

It's unclear why Landauer was in the highway.
