Indoor Marijuana Grow Facility Approved For Hygiene

HYGIENE, Colo. (CBS4)- An indoor marijuana grow facility has been approved in the community of Hygiene in Boulder County.

Boulder County Commissioners approved the facility on Tuesday. Hygiene is located just west of Longmont.

The owner of the commercial property asked the commissioners to allow him to grow pot and manufacture marijuana-infused products.

Some residents and business owners opposed the facility.

"We believe the proximity of the grow facility to the school could easily overshadow the safe environment so valuable to our success," said Assistant Superintendent of the St. Vrain Valley School District Brian Lamer.

Commissioners said they approved the facility because there will be no medical or retail pot sales on the property.
