Independence Pass Opens In Time For Holiday Weekend

ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - As expected, Independence Pass will open before the Memorial Day weekend.
Colorado State Patrol in Eagle tweeted the announcement on Thursday saying the popular pass will open on Friday at noon.

CDOT crews were conducting avalanche mitigation in a helicopter on the upper reaches of the pass last week.
The pass usually closes for the season in October.
