Illegal Fireworks Cause Fires In Metro Area

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver firefighters dealt with fires across the city due to illegal fireworks on the 4th of July Monday night.

Video captures them going off in an Adams County neighborhood.

Illegal fireworks also led to a roof fire at the Cherry Creek Mall. It was under control shortly after fire crews arrived. There wasn't much damage.

Firefighters contained a three-acre grass fire at Kipling Street and Quincy Avenue, near the prison in Lakewood, on Monday night.

There is no word on a cause, but it's possible illegal fireworks may be to blame.
