Icy Conditions Contribute To Difficult Morning Commute

DENVER (CBS4)- Drivers had a tough time getting anywhere in the Denver metro area on Wednesday morning because of a variety of driving conditions.

Icy roads in patches combined with pavement, slush and snow helped make a difficult morning drive.

Tuesday's snowstorm left piles of snow along roadways throughout the Denver metro area. That leftover snow, plowed in parts, combined with bright sun that reflected off the snow made for some difficult driving conditions.

Drivers had to deal with plowed portions of main roads combine with places where the streets were not plowed, typically residential streets, which caused difficulty in the transition areas.

Interstate 70 at Floyd Hill was closed for a while on Wednesday morning because of slick conditions.
