By Suzanne McCarroll

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- An 80-year-old carjacking victim says the bad guys need to pick on someone their own size.

Jim didn't want to give out his last name but did share his story of being attacked on Thursday with CBS4's Suzanne McCarroll.

Jim is a realtor in the southeast Denver metro area. He was getting into his 2007 Cadillac outside his office in the 13000 block of East Rice in Aurora when two guys came up from behind and pushed him to the ground.

He was parked in the handicap space and was wearing his oxygen bottle at the time.

"I thought it was a joke, someone from my office, I said, 'Who are you? Where are you going?'" said Jim.

But it was no joke. The suspects led deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office on a pursuit through neighborhoods. Two miles away at Winston and El Dorado Place, the deputy rammed the speeding car to stop it.

Both the detective and suspect suffered minor injuries in the collision. Shots were fired but no one was hit by the gunfire.

One suspect was detained and the other was rushed to the hospital.

Jim says he wishes he could have tackled them but says it all happened so quickly. He's a bit bruised and battered from the encounter.

"My knee hurts, my head hurts," said Jim.

He also said his pride hurts most of all. But the octogenarian is back at work less than 24 hours after the attack, relatively undaunted by the events.
