I-25 Ranks As Worst Commute In Bumper 2 Bumper Survey

DENVER (CBS4)- It's a common complaint among drivers in the Denver metro area-- the commute-- but what ranks worst probably won't come as a surprise.

According to CBS4 partner 850KOA's "Bumper 2 Bumper" traffic survey, Interstate 25 topped the list. In fact, it drew so many complaints they decided to expand the survey to include specific sections of I-25.

"One highway dominated the top five, we broke it up into stretches and we broke it up into direction, southbound I-25 from the north end down to downtown was number one," said 850KOA Traffic Reporter John Morrissey.

The survey also collected results from drivers on how they felt about the condition of the roads. Fifteen percent of the drivers say the condition of the roads is terrible while 38 percent said the roads are poor. Less than one percent of those who took the survey said the roads are excellent.

Another topic on the survey included red light cameras and photo radar programs. Neither are very popular.

Forty-one percent said both of the programs are money-making scams while 21 percent dislike the red light cameras and 26 percent dislike the photo radar program. Seventeen percent said they are indifferent to the programs.
