Hundreds Of Mailboxes Ransacked, Destroyed Near Fort Lupton

FORT LUPTON, Colo. (CBS4) - Deputies in Weld County are trying to track down those responsible for ransacking and destroying hundreds of mailboxes over the holiday weekend.

The destruction happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday in the Aristocrat Acres neighborhood near Fort Lupton.

Vandals tore down some of the mailboxes and opened others, scattering people's mail on the ground.

Deputies say mail they recovered is being taken back to the post office for redelivery.
