Hundreds Of Flights Out Of DIA Canceled
DENVER (AP) - A spring snowstorm expected to dump up to several feet of snow along the eastern foothills of Colorado and Wyoming is getting a late start, but the National Weather Service says snow is expected to begin piling up Saturday and Sunday.
Jim Kalina of the National Weather Service in Boulder and Brian Chapman of the National Weather Service in Cheyenne say rain is changing to snow and temperatures are falling, which could bring heavy, wet snow over the next two days. Up to 2 feet of snow was reported between Denver and the Continental Divide on Saturday.
Airlines at Denver International Airport canceled about 852 flights, about 71 percent of the daily schedule Saturday.
Meanwhile, heavy rain on the Eastern Plains prompted flood warnings in eastern Colorado, but no severe damage has been reported.
