Humor Lies Within The Subtleties In 'Forbidden Broadway'

DENVER (CBS4) - "Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking!" is a fast-paced parody of everything you love, everything you hate, and everything you "love to hate" about Broadway.

Director Bill Selby has a nearly 20-year history with the show and says the key to the humor is in the subtleties.

"There's a fine line that has to be played. It can't be too big -- the show can get very sophomoric if it gets there," Selby said. "I always say, 'You've got to focus on the reality, but it's an elevated reality.' "

The show runs through March 1 at the Garner Galleria Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
