Humberto Mares Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison For Shooting Wife, Told Police She Made Him Mad

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Humberto Mares has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for shooting his wife. Mares told police he shot his wife because she made him mad.
She survived the shooting. The couple's 3-year-old child was inside the house at the time of the shooting.
Mares had been deported from the U.S. once before. The district attorney said the sentence is fitting for domestic violence awareness month.
