Human Remains Found Near Front Range Airport

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Investigators are collecting evidence after a mystery discovery of human remains near the Front Range Airport.

The remains were found at Aurora Water and Sanitation in Adams County just before 11 a.m. Thursday.

Crews at the waste water treatment plant were repairing equipment when they made the gruesome discovery.

Copter4 flew over the scene and the pile of dirt where the bones were discovered.

Evidence markers were placed on the pile as investigators with the Adams County Sheriff's Office confirmed the skeletal remains were human.

The investigation was stalled when the sun went down. Investigators returned to the scene at 7 a.m. Friday.

They are working to determine how long the remains have been there and an identity.
