House Fire That Killed Dog Deemed Accidental

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - An accidental fire tore through a home in Arvada Thursday morning and will leave a family without a home this Christmas.

The call came in just before 9 a.m. for a house in the 7400 block of Teller Street. Crews could see smoke billowing in the air from several blocks away.

The Arvada Fire Department went into a fast attack upon arrival. The fire was fully involved in the basement and an area on the main floor of the home.

Two adults were able to escape without injury, but a family dog died in the fire.

Investigators believe the fire started near the basement and are calling it accidental. The cause of the fire is unknown.
