Family Rescued From House Fire In Northglenn

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) - North Metro Fire Department and Northglenn Police responded to a fire at about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

A neighbor spotted the flames coming from a family's home on Lincoln Drive.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was discarded cigarettes in a firepot on the home's back patio. The fire spread into the attic where the fire department was able to contain the flames.

Two adults and three children live in the home but all were helped to safety.

Although unclear how extensive, damage is largely on the second floor. The flames were contained by North Metro Fire Department.
