The crime took place early Tuesday morning in Denver's Hampden South neighborhood, not far from East Hampden Avenue and South Tamarac Drive.

A few hours after the murder, police located a vehicle that was possibly involved at a home in east Denver, along the border with Aurora at Yosemite Street and East 11th Avenue. The reportedly stolen black Audi SUV was towed for evidence.

Police said the driver of that stolen SUV might be connected to the homicide. So far, they haven't located that person.

Neighbors in Hampden South told CBS4 they think the homeowners were gone when the homicide happened and that the victim was housesitting at the house this week.

The first report of the crime apparently came in just after midnight when a man called 911 saying he saw two young men running from the home.
