Homeowner Cited For Marijuana Plants After House Fire

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A homeowner in Fort Collins will be cited after authorities found more marijuana plants than state law allows inside their house after it caught fire.

The fire started accidentally when a mattress was placed over a heating vent.

The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage at the home, which is located at 617 South Meldrum Street.

Authorities said they found twenty pot plants in the house, five of which were mature plants. State law allows for six small plants and six mature ones.
