Home In Foothills In Boulder County A Total Loss Following Fire

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A home was destroyed by a fire in the foothills near Boulder Saturday night.

The fire broke out at the home located in the 8300 block of Larkspur Road in unincorporated Boulder County just after 8:30 p.m.

"A detached studio apartment on the property caught on fire and became fully engulfed in flames and was a total loss," Cmdr. Heidi Prentup with the Boulder Country Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Members from American Medical Response, Left Hand Fire Protection District, Lyons Fire, Hygiene Fire, Boulder Mountain Fire, Boulder Emergency Squad, and deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
