No one was home at the time, and so far it's not clear what started the blaze.

The two-story home is located in a rural area just south of Franktown. When crews got there the flames were shooting out the roof.

Firefighters had a hard time with the firefight. There are no hydrants in the area, so they had to shut down part of Highway 83 and set up a two mile relay to get active hoses to the scene.

The real estate website Trulia shows the home sold last year for almost $800,000.

A family cat was rescued and horses on the property were moved to another location.
