Fire Destroys Home, Family Escapes Flames

DENVER (CBS4)- Firefighters battled a house fire in Clear Creek County on Tuesday that was especially challenging because they had to bring in their own water.

Fire crews rushed to the Blue Valley subdivision about 2:15 p.m. When they arrived the single family home and garage were fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke billowing from the roof.

Firefighters had to bring in their own water to fight the fire because there were no fire hydrants in the neighborhood.

The family was able to escape to safety in a neighbor's home. No one was injured.

What caused the fire is being investigated.
