Home Care Workers Call For $15 Minimum Wage

DENVER (AP) — Fast-food employees have gotten big headlines for their calls for a $15 minimum wage and union rights.

Home care workers in Denver are following suit. A protest planned Thursday morning outside Denver's GOP Party headquarters aims to criticize Republicans for not supporting the higher wage.

Organizers say the Denver demonstration is one of a dozen events being led by home care workers in cities across the country this week.

Home care workers provide health care services to seniors and people with disabilities. They're often paid with Medicare and Medicaid dollars.
