Hit & Run Victim Was Filled With 'Fierce Joy'
DENVER (CBS4) - A close friend of a 28-year-old woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Denver says he is still getting used to the reality of her being gone.
"I was definitely just in shock the first day. As it's hitting me that this is real, it's harder," Sean Williams told CBS4, referring to his friend Karina Pulec.
Denver police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Norlan Estrada-Reyes. He is suspected of driving a white Ford pickup truck that struck Pulec near the intersection of 13th Avenue and Broadway early Sunday morning.
The driver didn't get far before the pickup smashed into another vehicle near 8th Avenue and Acoma Street. Police say Estrada-Reyes was able to get away before police could respond.
Williams met Pulec 10 years ago while the two were attending the University of Colorado. They've been friends ever since.
Pulec left Colorado at one point but recently moved back to be closer to her family.
"Karina had so much just, pure kind of fierce joy," Williams said.

Williams says while getting justice for Pulec is important, he'll leave that to police and focus his thoughts on her.
"I kind of have my trust in them," he said.
