CDOT Worker Hurt In Hit & Run: Suspect Driver Arrested After Crash At 49th & Sheridan

DENVER (CBS4) - Police have arrested a woman suspected of hitting an employee of the Colorado Department of Transportation at 49th and Sheridan Boulevard Friday morning. Denver police say the victim was seriously hurt and southbound Sheridan was closed at 49th while officers investigated.

"Suspect vehicle is a Silver 2004 Ford Explorer, plate no. OLK-274. Last seen headed SB from the area," police tweeted Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police tweeted, "[The] vehicle in this hit and run crash investigation has been located. Investigators are working to develop suspect information, no arrests at this time."

At approximately 3:50 p.m., police said a woman had been arrested in connection with the case.

"She is being held for careless driving resulting in injury of a vulnerable road user, red light violation, and leaving the scene of a crash," Denver police tweeted.
