Historic September Heat: Denver Hits 99 Degrees

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver broke three heat records on Monday. At Denver International Airport, the official weather station for Denver hit 99 degrees -- breaking yesterday's record for the hottest temperature recorded in September. The heat also set a new record for this date and for Labor Day.

On Sunday, Denver's temperature hit 98 degrees. Record highs were also set in Alamosa, Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Cooler temperatures are anticipated for Tuesday thanks to an approaching cold front.
