Historic Larimer Square Celebrates 50 Years

DENVER (CBS4)- Historic Larimer Square is celebrating its 50th anniversary with its annual Yuletide Window Walk.

Denver artists are painting store windows in various businesses to celebrate the Holiday season. This year's paintings will reflect each business in addition to a chosen theme.

"I came up with this image of the trolley cars," said artist Randy Segura.

He's painting a 1940s film inspired window at Al's Barbershop.

The window decorations start Saturday and will stay through the holiday season.

"This year is really significant for us," Jacey McDaniel with Larimer Square added, "in celebrating 50 years of historic preservation."

Each window display will incorporate gold to mark the occasion. Holiday events in the square will also feature Santa, gift wrapping, and carolers through December.
