Historic Home Demolished In Jefferson Park
DENVER (CBS4)- The fight to save an historic home in the Jefferson Park neighborhood is over. The house has been demolished.
All the remains of the 130-year-old home at 2329 Eliot Street is a pile of rubble. Eighteen town homes will be built on the property where the home once stood.
The owner of the home sold it to a developer. Before he did that, neighbors tried to get the home to have historic landmark status.
If the neighborhood had succeeded, the status would have prevented the property from demolition and development.
Factors the neighbors sighted for historic designation included the Queen Ann architecture consistent with a building date around 1890.
