Hiker Finds Human Remains In Chaffee County

HARTSEL, Colo. (AP) — Chaffee County authorities are investigating after a hiker found some human remains.

Sheriff John Spezze says a hiker out looking for antler sheds reported finding the remains Tuesday in the Trout Creek Pass area, about 15 miles southwest of Hartsel.

He says the area is being treated as the scene of a homicide.

The county coroner's office and the district attorney's office are helping in the investigation.
