Colorado Hiker Rescued After Falling 40 Feet In Little Dominguez Canyon

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A climber is recovering after falling 40 feet in Little Dominguez Canyon near Grand Junction. Authorities say the man fell part-way down a 200-foot cliff in the area of Rose Creek on Wednesday afternoon.

First responders used a helicopter to reach the bottom of the canyon and hiked about a mile in steep terrain to reach the climber.

He was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to recover.
