Highlands Ranch On Edge As Suspicious Device Suspect Search Continues

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) - Tensions are running high in Highlands Ranch after the bomb squad checked a third device found in a park in less than a week.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department has stepped up patrols of parks in the city since acid-like explosive devices were found in Dad Clark Park and Marcy Park. In the first incident a device went off and a boy was injured.

On Sunday the bomb squad's robot checked a package found at Paintbrush Park after a deputy spotted it during those increased patrols. It turned out to simply be a sealed envelope filled with paper.

So far there has not been a suspect description released.
