High School Football Team Cheers As Opponent Scores
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (CBS4) - Teams don't normally cheer when their opponents score, but Cherry Creek High School did.
And for a good reason, too.
Friday night, when they faced off against the Prairie View Thunderhawks, both teams swarmed the end zone, chanting PVHS football manager Patrick McKinney's name after he crossed the goal line.
Patrick has cerebral palsy, and has been unable to play football.
But with the help of his teammates, as well as his opponents, he scored, and showed us "everything right about high school athletics."
PVHS posted about it, including a video, to their Facebook page, thanking the Cherry Creek players for their class, the PVHS students, the parents, and, lastly, "Patrick McKinney for [his] pride and dedication to our school."
Cherry Creek High School won the game, 44-13, over Prairie View.
