High Fire Danger Plagues Eastern Plains

DENVER (CBS4)- The fire risk in Colorado is getting higher on the Eastern Plains while a cold front is dampening that risk in some parts of the state bringing cooler temperatures, slightly higher humidity and weaker winds.

Eastern Colorado will stay in the high fire danger for the first part of the weekend.

The southwestern corner of Colorado is also stuck in the high fire danger zone.

The area around the San Juans and Four Corners has a red flag warning that expired at 7 p.m.

A burst of moisture set to roll in over the weekend will help suppress the fire danger across Colorado.
