Hickenlooper Has More Than $1M For Re-Elect

DENVER (AP) - Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper has more than $1 million available as he begins his re-election campaign.

The Democrat reported Wednesday his campaign raised $420,000 in the final quarter of last year. He now has a total of $1.047 million on hand as he faces what is expected to be a challenging race for re-election in November.

That's nearly 10 times as much cash as any of the Republicans vying to replace him has on hand.

Former Rep. Tom Tancredo has the most cash available, with $123,000 in the bank. That's more than the other Republicans in the race, Secretary of State Scott Gessler, former State Senate Minority Leader Mike Kopp and current State Senator Greg Brophy.
