Heritage Big Wheel Opens At Mile High Flea Market

(CBS4) - DENVER (CBS4) - The Mile High Flea Market has a new attraction called the Heritage Big Wheel. It's a 60 foot ferris wheel that came from the now-closed Heritage Square in Jefferson County.

Staff members took CBS4's Mekialaya White for a spin on the ride on Friday morning.

The Big Wheel is a 60-foot-tall, 16-bucket Ferris wheel made by the Eli Bridge Company. It originally was on display in Old Chicago Towne in Boling Brook, IL. It most recently was a local favorite at the Heritage Square amusement park, which closed in June 2018.

The Mile High Flea Market jumped at the opportunity to purchase and add it to their park. It now has a new permanent home at the Mile High Flea Market.

Part of the proceeds from the wheel benefit Super Heroes 4 Charity, a Loveland-based nonprofit that combats bullying.

The wheel is celebrating its commemorative weekend; it opens to the public and rides officially begin at 9 a.m. Saturday!
