Hearing Restarts For Soldier Charged With Murder

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — A hearing on whether an infantryman should face a court-martial in the shooting death of another soldier when they were deployed in Jordan is set to resume Monday at Colorado's Fort Carson.

Twenty-three-year-old Spc. Jeffery T. Page is charged with murder in the death of 19-year-old Spc. Adrian M. Perkins in May.

The hearing was originally set for Nov. 19 but was postponed after Page's lawyer told the presiding officer he hadn't had time to review all the evidence.

Page is from Perrysburg, Ohio, and Perkins was from Pine Valley, California. Both were assigned to Fort Carson.

Charging documents say Perkins was shot with an M4 rifle. Authorities haven't revealed a motive or the circumstances of the death.

Page is also charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide.
