Hayden Pass Fire Burns Over 15,000 Acres, Still Growing

COALDALE, Colo. (CBS4) - The Hayden Pass Fire in Fremont County has burned 15,754 acres as of Friday morning.

Tackling the fire are 645 firefighters, seven helicopters, and possible fixed-wing 'loaner' aircraft on Friday.

Though the fire continues to expand, some evacuees will temporarily be allowed inside the perimeter to check on their homes Friday.

Other areas of the wildfire are still too dangerous, even for firefighters.

The Colorado State Patrol in Canon City tweeted out new photos of the fire Friday afternoon.
