'I Thought It Was A Snowstorm': Resident Reacts To Hail
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Severe weather struck Adams County on Tuesday night and left piles of hail and street flooding in its wake.
The hail was piled up several inches high in the area of 72nd Avenue and Pecos. There was also street flooding in the area. It was unclear whether anyone was stranded in the storm but one driver appeared to have issues.
The severe weather left behind such a mess that authorities closed Pecos from 70th to 72nd Avenue. It was unclear when the road would reopen.
"I actually got scared because I thought it was a snowstorm in August. It was coming down so thick, I couldn't even see... maybe like 10 feet in front of me," said Adams County resident Steven Lucero.
On Monday afternoon, a hail storm struck parts of Colorado Springs and left several inches of hail. Some of it left behind severe damage to homes and property.
There was a flash flood warning in effect for Adams County until 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.
It was unclear how much damage to the businesses in the area was caused by the storm.
