Habitat ReStore Gives Back To Community With Donated Items
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- There's another option for homeowners wanting to take on a do-it-yourself project and spruce up their space without spending a lot of money. The Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened a location in Aurora on Saturday.
Hundreds of people were there for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new store. It runs off donations from local residents and businesses and includes everything from paint to cabinets, light fixtures to door hinges, decking and decorations.
"Habitat ReStore is essentially kind of like a thrift Home Depot store. This is a place where people can donate their furniture and appliances, light fixtures, anything that really goes into making a house a home," said CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver Heather Lafferty.
Habitat ReStore is open to the public for both shopping and donations. All proceeds from the sale of donated items benefit Habitat for Humanity.
