Habitat For Humanity Brings 'Critical Home Repair Program' To Globeville
DENVER (CBS4) - Habitat for Humanity isn't all about building new homes. This summer volunteers are working to fix up houses in one of Denver's poorest neighborhoods.
Volunteers will work on 20 homes in the Globeville neighborhood. It's part of the "Critical Home Repair Program," which is now in its second year.
"We have found that with the Critical Home Repair Program we can serve an equal number of people that our new construction program does with a lot less resources," Habitat for Humanity construction supervisor Burke Curtis said.
The Denver Metro Fair Housing Center gave a $120,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity to help fund the repairs.
