Person Found With Gunshot Wound To Head In Idaho Springs Dies

IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities are investigating after a person was shot to death in Idaho Springs on Sunday.

According to the District Attorney Bruce Brown's office, Idaho Springs police officers responded to a call for medical assistance at an apartment building located at 345 Idaho Street Sunday evening.

"The injured party suffered what appears to have been a gunshot wound to the head and died at a hospital on Monday," the district attorney's office said in a statement.

Police arrested a person of interest who has since been released without charges.

The Idaho Springs Police Department, Clear Creek County Sheriff's office and Colorado Bureau of Investigation are investigating the incident.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

No names or genders have been released.
